What is a Masters in
Aviation in France?
A Masters in Aviation in France covers air transport management, aircraft systems engineering, aviation safety, airline operations, air traffic management, drone systems, and airport planning — the disciplines that keep the world connected by air.
France is uniquely positioned for this field. Airbus — the world's largest commercial aircraft manufacturer by deliveries — is headquartered in Toulouse. So are Safran (jet engines and landing gear), Thales (avionics and air traffic systems), ATR (turboprop aircraft), and Dassault Aviation (fighter jets and business jets).
ENAC — the world's largest civil aviation university — is located in Toulouse and trains the professionals who run global aviation. ISAE-SUPAERO, Europe's #1 aerospace school, sits next door. No other country offers this concentration of aviation education and industry.

6 Reasons France Is
the Best Place to Study
Aviation
From Airbus's global HQ to ENAC's flight simulators — France offers aviation students access that no other country can replicate.
Airbus — World's Largest Commercial Aircraft Maker
Airbus is headquartered in Toulouse, France. It's the world's largest commercial aircraft manufacturer by deliveries. Add Safran (jet engines), Thales (avionics), ATR (turboprops), and Dassault Aviation (fighter jets + business jets) — and France is the undisputed centre of European aviation.
ENAC — World's Largest Civil Aviation University
ENAC (Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile) is the world's largest university dedicated entirely to civil aviation. Located in Toulouse, it trains air traffic controllers, airline managers, aviation engineers, and drone operators. No other country has a comparable institution.
Toulouse — European Capital of Aviation
Toulouse employs over 100,000 people in aviation and aerospace — more than any other city in Europe. Airbus, ATR, Safran, Thales, and CNES (French space agency) all have major operations here. Students get internships at companies that build the aircraft the world flies.
France's Drone & Urban Air Mobility Push
France is Europe's leading drone market. The government has invested heavily in UAV regulations, urban air mobility, and autonomous flight. ENAC and ISAE-SUPAERO run dedicated drone programs. Companies like Parrot, Airbus Urban Mobility, and Delair drive commercial drone innovation.
2-Year Post-Study Work Visa
France's APS permit gives you the right to live and work in France for two years after graduation, with full Schengen zone access — a direct path to European aviation careers at Airbus, Air France-KLM, and beyond.
Affordable Grande École Fees vs US/UK
Public French universities charge as little as €243/year for EU and €3,770/year for non-EU students. Even ENAC and ISAE-SUPAERO charge €8K–€15K/year — a fraction of Embry-Riddle ($45,000+) or Cranfield (£25,000+) aviation programs.

What Indian Students
Need to Qualify
These are baseline criteria. Our counsellors assess your profile individually and tell you exactly where you stand.
Academic Score & Accepted Degrees
B.Tech/B.E. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering. ISAE-SUPAERO and Ecole Polytechnique expect 80%+ (CGPA 8.0+). ENAC accepts 70%+. ESTACA and Université Toulouse III work with 65%+. BBA/BSc graduates can apply for aviation management programs.
GRE (Preferred at Select Schools)
A GRE score of 310+ strengthens applications at ISAE-SUPAERO and Ecole Polytechnique. ENAC and ESTACA typically do not require GRE. Management-track programs may prefer GMAT 600+. Plan to take the exam 4–6 months before your application deadline.
English Proficiency — No French Required
IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90+. All listed programs are fully taught in English. French is NOT required for admission — though learning it boosts daily life and career prospects, especially at companies like Air France and DGAC.
Work Experience
Not strictly mandatory for MSc programs — fresh graduates with 0–2 years are accepted. However, internships in aviation operations, airline management, aerospace manufacturing, or drone systems significantly strengthen your application. Management programs may prefer 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Documents Required
Statement of Purpose (1–2 pages, essay-style), 2–3 Letters of Recommendation (1 academic + 1 professional preferred), updated CV highlighting aviation projects, aerospace internships, and relevant certifications, all academic transcripts, passport copy, and any pilot licence or aviation certification if applicable.
Not sure if you qualify? Our counsellors do a profile analysis and tell you which schools you can get into — and what it takes to strengthen your application.
