What is an MSc in
Sports Management?
An MSc in Sports Management is a specialised postgraduate degree that prepares you for leadership roles in the global sports industry — from managing professional clubs and organising mega-events to running sports marketing campaigns and negotiating multi-million euro sponsorship deals.
Unlike a general MBA, a Sports Management degree focuses exclusively on the sports ecosystem: sports marketing, event operations, athlete representation, stadium management, esports business, and sports law. You graduate with industry-specific expertise that general business graduates simply do not have.
France is the natural home for this degree. The country that hosted the 2024 Paris Olympics, that gave the world the Tour de France and Roland-Garros, and that houses PSG — one of the world's most valuable sports brands — offers Indian students unmatched access to the heart of global sports business.

6 Reasons France Is
the World Capital of
Sports Business
No country combines world-class sporting events, global sports brands, elite business schools, and a post-study work visa the way France does. Here is why it is the smartest choice.
2024 Olympics Legacy
France hosted the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics — the most watched sporting event in history. This legacy means new sports infrastructure, global partnerships, and a booming sports management job market that Indian graduates can directly tap into.
PSG, UEFA & FIFA Ties
Paris Saint-Germain, UEFA headquarters (Nyon), and FIFA's European operations create a dense ecosystem of sports management opportunities. French business schools have direct partnerships with these organisations for internships and placements.
Roland-Garros & Tour de France
France hosts the world's most iconic sporting events — Roland-Garros, Tour de France, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rugby World Cup. These mega-events generate thousands of sports management roles every year, from event operations to sponsorship deals.
Home of Decathlon & Major Sports Brands
France is home to Decathlon (world's largest sporting goods retailer), Lacoste, Salomon, and Rossignol. These global brands actively recruit from French sports management programs — giving graduates a direct pipeline to corporate sports careers.
2-Year Post-Study Work Visa
France's APS permit gives you the right to live and work in France for two years after graduation, with full Schengen zone access — a direct path to European sports industry careers and long-term residency.
Global Sports Business Hub
Paris is the headquarters for major international sports federations, sponsorship agencies, and esports organisations. France's position as a global sports business hub means graduates are at the centre of the action — not on the sidelines.

What Indian Students
Need to Qualify
These are baseline criteria. Our counsellors assess your profile individually and tell you exactly where you stand.
Academic Score & Accepted Degrees
Bachelor's degree (3 or 4 years) in any stream — sports science, business, engineering, arts. ESSEC and EM Lyon expect 70%+ (CGPA 7.0+). KEDGE and SKEMA accept 60%+. AMOS and PSB Paris work with 55%+. Prior sports industry experience is valued but not mandatory.
GMAT / GRE
A GMAT of 550–650 strengthens applications at ESSEC and KEDGE. Several schools waive GMAT for strong profiles or sports industry experience. A good score also unlocks 10%–30% scholarships at most business schools.
English Proficiency
IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90+. All sports management programs listed here are taught fully in English. ESSEC accepts an MOI certificate if your bachelor's was taught entirely in English for 3+ years. No French language requirement for admission.
Work Experience
Not strictly mandatory, but internships or work experience in the sports industry — event management, sports marketing, athlete management, sports federations, or fitness brands — significantly strengthen your application. ESSEC and KEDGE value 6–12 months of relevant professional exposure. Volunteering at major sporting events (IPL, Olympics, FIFA) is also highly regarded.
Documents Required
Statement of Purpose (1–2 pages, essay-style), 2–3 Letters of Recommendation (1 academic + 1 professional preferred), updated CV, all academic transcripts, passport copy, and any relevant sports industry certifications or event management portfolios. Important: Charpak Scholarship SOPs are checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content is now flagged — always write your own.
Not sure if you qualify? Our counsellors do a profile analysis and tell you which schools you can get into — and what it takes to strengthen your application.
