What is MSc Engineering
Management in France?
A Masters in Engineering Management (MEM) is a postgraduate degree designed for engineers who want to lead — not just build. It bridges the gap between deep technical expertise and strategic business decision-making.
Unlike a pure engineering master's (which dives deeper into a technical domain) or an MBA (which is generalist business), Engineering Management trains you to lead R&D teams, manage complex industrial projects, oversee manufacturing operations, and drive innovation at companies like Airbus, Schneider Electric, and Safran.
France is the ideal place to study this. The Grande École engineering system — featuring Ecole Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, and Mines ParisTech — has produced the leaders behind France's aerospace, energy, and technology industries for over two centuries.

6 Reasons France Is
the Best Place to Study
Engineering Management
No country bridges engineering and business leadership better than France. Here is what makes studying Engineering Management in France a categorically different — and better — decision.
World-Class Engineering Tradition
France's Grande École engineering system has produced some of the world's greatest engineers and innovators for over 200 years. Ecole Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, and Mines ParisTech are globally recognised for engineering excellence.
Airbus, Safran & Schneider HQs
France is home to the headquarters of Airbus, Safran, Schneider Electric, Dassault, Thales, and Total — global engineering giants that actively recruit from French Grande Écoles. Your next employer could be your campus neighbour.
Bridge Engineering + Business
Engineering Management in France uniquely bridges deep technical expertise with strategic business leadership. Graduates don't just understand systems — they lead the teams and organisations that build them.
Grande École Engineering System
France's Grande Écoles are among the most selective and respected institutions in the world. Their rigorous engineering programs produce graduates who command premium salaries and leadership roles across industries.
2-Year Post-Study Work Visa
France's APS permit gives you the right to live and work in France after graduation, with full Schengen zone access — a direct path to European engineering careers and residency.
Cost Advantage Over UK & USA
A world-ranked MSc in Engineering Management from France costs ₹12–40 lakhs — significantly less than the UK (£25,000+) or USA ($50,000+), with equal or greater employer recognition in global engineering firms.

What Indian Students
Need to Qualify
These are baseline criteria. Our counsellors assess your profile individually and tell you exactly where you stand.
Academic Score & Accepted Degrees
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related STEM discipline. Ecole Polytechnique and CentraleSupélec expect 80%+ (CGPA 8.0+). Mines ParisTech and ESCP accept 70%+. SKEMA, EDHEC, and Grenoble INP work with 65%+. NEOMA, IESEG, and Arts et Métiers accept 60%+.
GRE / GMAT Preferred
A GRE score of 310+ or GMAT of 600+ strengthens applications at Ecole Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, and Mines ParisTech. Several schools waive these for strong engineering profiles. Plan to take the test 4–6 months before your application deadline.
English Proficiency
IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90+. All programs are taught in English — no French language requirement. Students from English-medium Indian colleges often qualify for waivers. Almost every top engineering management program requires English proficiency without exception.
Work Experience
Not strictly mandatory — most MSc programs accept fresh graduates with 0–2 years of experience. However, technical internships, industry projects, or 1–2 years of engineering work experience significantly strengthen your application at Polytechnique, CentraleSupélec, and Mines ParisTech. Leadership roles in college technical clubs also carry weight.
Documents Required
Statement of Purpose (1–2 pages, essay-style), 2–3 Letters of Recommendation (1 academic + 1 professional preferred), updated CV highlighting technical projects, internships, and engineering leadership, all academic transcripts, passport copy, and any relevant project portfolio. Important: Charpak Scholarship SOPs are checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content is now flagged — always write your own.
Not sure if you qualify? Our counsellors do a profile analysis and tell you which schools you can get into — and what it takes to strengthen your application.
