What is a Masters in
Management in France?
A Masters in Management (MIM) — also called a Grande École Program or MSc in Management — is a postgraduate business degree that gives fresh graduates the strategic, analytical, and leadership skills to manage organisations at a global level.
Unlike an MBA (which requires 3–7 years of experience), the MIM welcomes you right after your bachelor's degree. Any discipline works — engineering, commerce, arts, science. It is the fastest, most recognised path into global consulting firms, multinationals, and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
France invented this model. The Grande École system — a network of elite, highly selective French institutions — is unlike anything in the world. HEC Paris, ESSEC, and ESCP have been producing global business leaders since the 19th century.

6 Reasons France
Leads the World in
Management Education
No country produces more globally ranked MIM programs than France. Here is what makes studying management in France a categorically different — and better — decision.
#1 Country for MIM Globally
France leads the Financial Times Masters in Management global rankings every year. HEC Paris alone has held the #1 spot multiple times — a distinction no UK or US school has ever consistently matched.
The Grande École Advantage
France's Grande École system is unique in the world. These elite, highly selective institutions produce graduates who run Fortune 500 companies across every continent.
Mandatory 6-Month Internship
Every MIM program in France mandates an internship of up to six months — often across two countries. You graduate with real European work experience, not just a degree.
Triple Crown Accreditation
Most leading French business schools hold AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditations — the 'Triple Crown' earned by fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide.
2-Year Post-Study Work Visa
France's APS permit gives you the right to live and work in France after graduation, with full Schengen zone access — a direct path to European careers and residency.
Better ROI than UK or USA
A world-ranked MIM from France costs ₹15–45 lakhs — significantly less than the UK (£30,000+) or USA ($60,000+), with equal or greater global employer recognition.

What Indian Students
Need to Qualify
These are baseline criteria. Our counsellors assess your profile individually and tell you exactly where you stand.
Academic Score & Accepted Degrees
Bachelor's degree (3 or 4 years) in any discipline — B.Tech, BBA, BCom, BSc, BA, BCA all accepted. HEC Paris/ESSEC/ESCP expect 80%+ (CGPA 8.0+). EDHEC and emlyon accept 75%+. SKEMA, IESEG, TBS, and NEOMA work with 70%+. Public university programs accept 65–70%.
GMAT / GRE Score
HEC Paris, ESSEC, and ESCP strongly prefer GMAT 680+ or GRE 320+. EDHEC and SKEMA prefer GMAT/GRE but waive for very strong profiles. Smaller business schools and public universities usually do not require it. A strong score is the single biggest unlock for elite schools and scholarships (10%–50% tuition waiver). Plan to take the GMAT 4–6 months before your application deadline.
English Proficiency
IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 90–100. ESSEC accepts an MOI certificate if your bachelor's was taught entirely in English for 3+ years. Almost every top MIM program requires English proficiency without exception.
Work Experience
Not strictly mandatory for MIM — it is designed for fresh graduates with 0–3 years of experience. However, a 6-month internship or 1–2 years of relevant work experience significantly strengthens your application at HEC and ESSEC. If you can gain any professional exposure before applying, do it.
Documents Required
Statement of Purpose (1–2 pages, essay-style), 2–3 Letters of Recommendation (1 academic + 1 professional preferred), updated CV, all academic transcripts, passport copy, and any relevant project portfolio. Important: Charpak Scholarship SOPs are checked for plagiarism and AI-generated content is now flagged — always write your own.
Not sure if you qualify? Our counsellors do a profile analysis and tell you which schools you can get into — and what it takes to strengthen your application.
